Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels

When Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels made a private stop in Evansville, the good people at Victoria National Golf Course asked if I would photograph the event. I was honored and gladly accepted.

Governor Daniels (no relation, unfortunately) arrived a little early and was able to watch Tiger Woods win the U.S. Open. For those of you who are not golf fans - Tiger won on the 91st hole in a sudden death show down - it was fantastic - and when you are in a bar full of Golf lovers, well it is even more special. The Governor drink water and mingled effortlessly with everyone. I was quite impressed - his people skills are phenomenal and he comes across as an extremely genuine individual.

Indiana Congressional Candidate Greg Goode was in attendance as well as were many of Indiana's currently elected Republicans.

The Governor gave a brief but poignant speech about the future of Indiana.

I had a lot of fun standing back and photographing the Governor and the day went great. The event furthered my already good relationship with Victoria National and I look forward to my next trip to their truly amazing club.

and as a side note...

I am a Harrison alum but on my drive home from Victoria, I couldn't help but pull over to take some pictures of the Castle Knights water tower which graces the Paradise, Indiana landscape. I am sure my 2009 seniors at Castle High will appreciate me laying down my loyalties long enough to get this shot ;)
